The birthplace of Robert Burns is in Alloway, and so are the auld Brig o' Doon and the Burns Monument. The National Trust for Scotland's famous Culzean Castle and Country Park, Souter Johnnie's cottage in Kirkoswald, Crossraguel Abbey and the natural phenomenon known as the Croy Brae (Electric Brae) are nearby. Walks: The present owner of Kilkerran Estate, Sir Charles Fergusson, wishes to extend an invitation to Ladyburn House's guests to walk and enjoy the estate and its policies and perhaps discover the last of a group of Silver Firs planted by Lord Kilkerran in 1707 to mark the Treaty of Union between Scotland and England. Golf: Ladyburn House is set within the heart of the Ayrshire golf country. Turnberry Golf Resort is 14 miles away, and Royal Troon Golf Club is 22 miles away.
